Announcing a special centenary of Japanese Canadian soldiers participating in four wars between 1914-2014.
In 2014, a campaign to acknowledge “They Went to War” was undertaken to restore the cenotaph in Stanley Park. Come see the refurbishment of the cenotaph. On Remembrance Day we will unveil the work done by Van den Kerkhof Stonemasons under the guidance of Donald Luxton, heritage consultants.
Join a reception in the Pavilion at Stanley Park following the ceremony. We will also display the restored Honour Roll of the WWI veterans.
Veterans of the recent wars and descendants of the first World War will be in attendance.
Major funding was provided by the Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Organized by the Japanese Canadian War Memorial Committee
