DESCRIPTION:Ukiyo-e prints\, modern Japanese prints\, and pottery from the 
 Richard F. Grott Family Collection will be on display through March 7\, 20
 08\, at the Northern Illinois University (NIU) Art Museum in DeKalb.  The 
 exhibitions are part of a project titled "National/International Conscious
 ness in Japan: Self\, Place and Society during the Nineteenth\, Twentieth 
 and Twenty-first Centuries."\n\nA public reception for the exhibitions wil
 l be held on Thursday\, January 24\, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm\, featuring perf
 ormances by the Japanese American Service Committee Tsukasa Taiko drum gro
 up.\n\nThe NIU Art Museum is located in Altgeld Hall\, at the corner of Co
