  • Laura Avery, "The Perfect Farm". Santa Monica Mirror 2, no. 33 (January 31-February 6, 2001).
Excerpt: "Harry Iwamoto arrived in the San Fernando Valley in 1958, long after the dark days of forced internment of Japanese Americans that took place during World War II. He started out as a landscaper on the large home sites which were prevalent in the area, and started a plant nursery on his own property. By 1967, he had leased 100 acres of land in Saticoy and was growing strawberries for the wholesale market –- a large scale farming operation which featured the popular Chandler strawberry."
