Review of Kaino's first solo exhibition in New York City.
"For his second solo exhibition at The Project, Los Angeles-based artist Glenn Kaino presents a Rube Goldberg contraption of impossible causality and mixed metaphors at The Project’s new location on 57th Street in Manhattan. This exhibition is the final part of a three staged exhibition of Kaino at The Project. Last March, The Project presented Kaino’s "The Siege Perilous" at the 2003 Armory Fair. In April 2003, Kaino’s first solo exhibition at The Project consisted of two large scale installations, "In Revolution..." and "Desktop Operation; There's no place like Home (10th example of Rapid Dominance: Em City). ...Simple System for Dimensional Transformation continues Kaino’s exploration of motion, water and the reconstruction of the everyday into the fantastic."
  • Bounce: Mark Bradford and Glenn Kaino (Los Angeles, REDCAT Gallery, February 5-March 28, 2004)
"Glenn Kaino's works explore the cultural matrix in which he operates. His recent work reveals a fascination with Rube Goldberg machines and their exaggerated economies of work, Andy Warhol and The Factory, Schrodinger's Cat, and quantum equations."
