Emerick Ishikawa
Weightlifter
Emerick Ishikawa was the first Japanese American to win a senior nationals title, winning four straight from 1944 to 1947, and was a member of the 1948 United States Olympic team. A native of Maui, he was also a champion swimmer and original member of Hawaii's "Three Year Swim Club", whose members became national champions.
