Additional information
Came home from Italy into NY harbor and were greeted by the NYC fireboats. We docked on the west side of Manhattan and from there went to Fort Dix, NJ. From Fort Dix we went to Manhattan for a welcome home party at the NYC Armory, hosted by Jinx Falkenberg.

We then went on to Fort Belvoir and paraded down Pennsylvania Avenue to receive the Presidential Unit Citation from President Harry S. Truman.

From there we went on to Fort George G. Meade to receive our discharge from the service. Everyone said their goodbyes and headed to their homes, wherever that might be.

Lived in N.Y. since discharge - married Peggy C. Yasukawa and had 4 children - Valerie, Mike, Gary, Steven and 6 grandchildren.
