Troy Kaji, MD, formou-se em medicina pela Universidade da Califórnia, Davis, em 1986. Enquanto estava em Davis, Troy começou sua pesquisa pessoal sobre médicos e hospitais nipo-americanos, em uma busca contínua para compreender sua herança herdada de seu avô médico, Kikuo Tashiro. Atualmente, ele trabalha como médico de Medicina de Família em uma instalação de rede de segurança pública, o Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, no Richmond Health Center.

INTRODUCTIONIn the waning days of July, 1985, City View Hospital was transferring its last few patients to St. Vincent’s Medical Center across town.
