 American artist Miné Okubo continued perfecting her art even as war inter
 vened twice during the early years of her promising career. Okubo is accla
 imed for <em>Citizen 13660</em>\, a book of her 198 drawings revealing li
 fe inside a temporary Bay Area detention center and a Utah concentration c
 amp where she was incarcerated with thousands of other Japanese during Wor
 ld War II. It is the first book about the American concentration camp expe
 rience by a former prisoner.\n\nOkubo’s work has influenced many Japanes
 e American artists up to the present day\, whether through her practice\, 
 style\, or dedication to documenting the truth about the world around her.
  In this interactive virtual discussion and workshop\, artists <strong>Ki
 ku Hughes</strong>\, <strong>MariNaomi</strong>\, and <strong>Yumi Sakug
 awa</strong> will share how they are inspired by Miné. The discussion wi
 ll be followed by interactive drawing sessions with each artist.\n\n<a hre
