Since coming to the U.S. in 1992\, Ms. Kigawa has dedicated hersel f to preserving and conveying Japan&rsquo\;s traditional and folk arts edu cation to youngsters in NYC\, teaching at 14th Street Y of the Educational Alliance\, Japanese weekend and private schools as well as in after schoo l programs in American schools where the children enjoy learning Japanese language and traditional culture. She has been also an instructor and emce e for Japan Society family annual festivities for young children and famil ies. She is also a haiku poet whose pen name is Popona Tsukino.
