 ber 22\, 1988\, the Government of Canada formally acknowledged and paid sy
 mbolic individual redress payments for the dispossession and internment of
  thousands of Japanese Canadians during World War II.&nbsp\;<em>Inheriting
  Redress</em>&nbsp\;brings together archival documents\, memorabilia\, pho
 tographs and other objects held by the Ottawa Japanese Community Associati
 on and individual community members who were active in the redress campaig
 n in the 1980s. These objects illuminate a period of community activism an
