This will be the artist&rsquo\;s fifth solo show since his first exhi bition at the gallery in 1999.\n\n Working in a wide range of media&mdash\ ;predominantly sculpture but also painting\, drawing\, photography\, video \, and performance&mdash\;Yutaka Sone&rsquo\;s work revolves around a tens ion between realism and perfection. The artist originally trained as an ar chitect and an almost obsessive attention to detail and its relationship t o a larger whole underpin his practice at large.\n\nYutaka Sone was born i n 1965 in Shizuoka\, Japan\, and studied at the Tokyo Geijutsu University. His work was recently the subject of two solo exhibitions in Tokyo: Yutak a Sone: Snow at Maison Herm&egrave\;s Le Forum in 2010 and Yutaka Sone: Pe rfect Moment at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2011. In 2009\, Baby Banan a Tree\, the artist&rsquo\;s 25-foot tall hand-painted sculpture\, was ins talled as a major public artwork at the Boone Sculpture Garden\, Pasadena City College\, Pasadena\, California. Other recent solo exhibitions includ e the Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art\, London (2007)\; Kunst halle&nbsp\; Bern\, Switzerland\; Aspen Art Museum\, Colorado\; The Renais sance Society at the University of Chicago (all 2006)\; and the Museum of Contemporary Art\, Los Angeles (2003).
