 ral enactments\, and social reproduction\,  particularly as they pertain t
 o Asians in the United States. He is the  author of <em>Japanese American 
 Celebration and Conflict: A History of Ethnic Identity and Festival\, 1934
 -1990</em> (2002) and co-author of <em>Major Problems in Asian American Hi
 story</em> (2002). He received the USC Innovative Teaching Award in 2005.\
