Visit the beautiful oasis in the middle of Carson's industrial area as the Gardena Valley JCI (GVJCI) and the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum (DRAM) co-sponsor the seminar titled Japanese Argonauts on the Dominguez Rancho.

There will be an accomplished panel to lead us through the early history of Issei and Nisei that lived and worked on the Dominguez Rancho.  Discover interesting facts about how the Nikkei came to settle on the rancho and what they had to deal with during and after World war II.  The speakers will be:

  • Don Hata, Emeritus Professor of History, California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH)
  • Eileen Reiko Yoshimura, Director of Financial Management for the Port of Los Angeles; Board member of the Japanese American Optimists.
  • Tom Philo, Archivist/Cataloger for the Archives & Special Collections at CSUDH.
  • Lane Hirabayashi, George and Sakaye Aratani Professor of the Japanese American Incarceration, Redress, and Community, and professor of Asian American Studies at UCLA.

DRAM is located just south of the 91 freeway on Alameda St.  The address is:
