 家族の話に戻りましょう。私の妻も義母も当時西海岸に住んでいたので、「敵性外国人」として強制収容所に送られました。日系人であるという理由でアメリカ市民である二世も送られました。1944年に妻の家族はオレゴン州に戻りましたが、日系人への偏見は続いていました。
