『御即位御大典記念-海外事情写真帳』(関門高等洋裁女学校、1931)から抜粋したメキシコへの移民の写真コレクションです。 これらの写真から当時のメキシコへの移民について、その一部を見ることができると思う。 原本に掲載されていた写真は、どれも興味深い写真ではあったが、特に個人的に興味を持ったものを抜粋し、スキャンして紹介することにした。 写真をクリックすることで、オリジナルの写真のページにジャンプするが、そこでは各写真に添付されていた説明文のトランスクリプトを見ることができる。

父は日本からマウイ島に渡りました。そこからパプアノアに移り住み,そこで母と結婚しました。その後,ヒロの町に出てきました。父は大工をしていました。母は商売がしたくて,豆腐屋を始めました。その頃,私が生まれたんです。豆腐屋は朝が早くて大変でした。当時,一丁 5 銭で,日本人相手に売っていたんです。 写真:父の出身地、山口県の周防大島。多くの日本人が、この島からハワイへ移住した。
