When you first create a Nikkei Album collection, it is unpublished. No one else has access to it, and it does not appear in anyone else's browse or search results, or tag displays.
Once you have edited the collection details and you're satisfied with the results, click "Publish" to make the collection visible to other Nikkei Album users.
When a collection is unpublished:
- It does not appear in any Nikkei Album browse displays or search results; it is viewable only by the contributor, when logged in.
- Any tags assigned to the collection do not appear in the tabbed tag displays -- including your own ("My tags").
- The different display formats do not work properly.
When a collection is published:
- Keywords from the collection's title, description, and details can be used to retrieve the collection and the collected items within it.
- Tags assigned to the collection appear in the tabbed tag displays on the "Browse" screen and the "Tags" editorial screen.
You can publish or unpublish a collection at any time, but unpublishing a collection means that all of the "collected items" within it will no longer be visible.
