Russel Hisashi Baba and Jeanne Aiko Mercer, residents of Mt. Shasta, California since 1984 are founders of the Shasta Taiko school and its performance group, Shasta Taiko and creators of the annual ShastaYama taiko festival. They are shown with a taiko drum and holding their bachi (drum stickes) in Shastice Park with Mt. Shasta in the background.
