Mitsuru Sushi & Grill is a restaurant in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo district. They're located on First Street near the intersection of Judge John Aiso Street. This photo was taken on October 26, 2007.

Mitsuru Grill has a combination of Japanese and American favorites. It's a great mix of sushi, tempura, and other Japanese dishes mixed in with sandwiches, hamburgers, and salads. They also have a daily (or is it weekly?) fairly extensive specials menu which are hand-written and copied. It sometimes includes things like corned beef & cabbage, enchiladas, and ox-tail stew. Food is good and relatively inexpensive. Very casual. It's almost set up more like a diner, but with a sushi bar in the front.

One of the most convenient things about Mitsuru Grill is their hours. Unlike most of the restaurants in Little Tokyo, they're open 7 days a week, from 9am - 10pm Monday - Thursday; and 8am - 10pm from Friday - Sunday. (Most other restaurants open for lunch, and then close from 2-5pm before re-opening for dinner)

Diner? Sports bar? or a Sushi bar?

Mitsuru Grill is a restaurant that is doing business for more than 30 years. They have variety of food, and it is one of the popular Japanese restaurant in Little Tokyo. For sports lover, they have a HD TV, and this place can be a Denny's Sports bar, and a sushi bar at the same time. They have a website at www.mitsurusushiandgrill.com. They have their menu posted up so it is much easier to check out the website before you go there.

Mitsuru memories

Thanks for posting the website address.

If you have any anecdotes, info, or special memories of Mitsuru Grill, would be great if you could share! I end up going there for lunch at least once a month or more now. Working in Little Tokyo, I eat in the area restaurants often, and it's nice going there sometimes because they have such a variety of food - not just all Japanese food. Oftentimes I'll get the bacon tomato avocado sandwich with either fries or green salad. Or, I like checking out their specials. I usually will get the corned beef cabbage when it's available. It's just like how my mom makes it for St. Patrick's Day. =)
