Inside suitcase is lined with dark brown colored rayon fabric with pockets on sides and lid.  "Y. Minamide" and "NO. 14431" is painted in light black colored paint on handle side of suitcase.  Both latches work with assistance. Used by Y. Miramide. Used to take belongings to Gila, AZ camp.

The Miramide family resided in Osoflaco, CA - near Santa Maria/Guadalupe and were interned at Gila, AZ camp during WWII. Miramides farmed in Oso Flaco - family of 4 boys and 4 girls and mother when WWII began.  One thing they farmed was peas - the kind you shell.  They lived near Nipomo Beach and dunes.  Since Tulare Assembly Center is mentioned, perhaps, that was 1st place Miramide went to, before going to Gila.
