Glenn and Yoshiko Kumekawa (Rhode Island), participants at the "Whose America? Who's American? Diversity, Civil Liberties, and Social Justice" National Conference in Denver, Colorado presented by the Japanese American National Museum.

The photo was taken at the Discover Nikkei booth in the Community Marketplace on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency, Denver.

Glenn Kumekawa comments:

Part of the Internment story is the "salvaging" of some 4,500 college-aged students from the camps and relocated them in the east coast and the midwest colleges. The Council of Academics and Religious Leaders in three short years successfully helped these students by the: The National Japanese American Student Relocation Council.
