ロイ・ウェスリー（旧姓ウエスギ）は、夫のマーク・ウェバーとともに、20 年にわたり Fermalogic, Inc. という研究所でビジネスを行っている研究者です。天然物処理の改善を行った後、現在は新薬の発見に取り組んでいます。ウェスリーは以前ファイザーに勤務し、検眼学の学位も取得しています。また、シカゴにある家族経営のコンタクト レンズ会社 Wesley-Jessen で同社が売却されるまで勤務し、その後 National Eye Research Foundation の会長を務めました。
