DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to be Japanese American in today&rsquo\;s soc
 iety? This question\, as well as others will beexplored in this special gr
 oup discussion.\n\nAccording to the 2000 census\, one of every three Japan
 ese Americans identified themselves as being multi-racial.   An example of
  being mult-racial is the relatively new concept\, &ldquo\;shin-Nisei\,&rd
 quo\; children of Issei who emigrated after WW II. New terminology is cons
 tantly being coined to reflect changing social conditions. \nAfter a short
  presentation\, audience members will explore this topic by sharing their 
 own stories\,  as well as finding the commonalities and differences that c
 haracterize Japanese Americans today.\n\nCost: Entry is free with admissio
