DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to a panel discussion on the ongoing reco
 very and relief efforts in northeast Japan from journalists and volunteers
  who have recently visited the devastated areas. Photos and videos about t
 he survivors and the current situation will be shown\, followed by a Q&amp
 \;A session for the public to ask questions that they have. Tina Tajima\, 
 from the Disaster Support Project (Japan)\, will moderate the discussion.\
 n\nABC 7 news anchor David Ono\, writer and former editor of the <em>Rafu 
 Shimpo</em> Naomi Hirahara\, documentary producer Debra Nakatomi\, photojo
 urnalist and volunteer Darrell Miho\, and UC Santa Barbara student Derek Y
 amashita will talk about their recent visits to the Tohoku region.\n\nThis
  panel discussion is supported in part by the Japanese American National M
 useum and the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy\, the Asia
 n American Journalists Association - Los Angeles Chapter\, the Disaster Su
