DESCRIPTION:The Los Angeles Buddhist Church Federation will hold its annual
  Hanamatsuri Celebration (the Flower Festival) on April 8th. The theme of 
 this year&rsquo\;s celebration is &ldquo\;Buddhism and Children.&rdquo\;\n
 \nThe event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a ceremony service in which the 1
 5 Buddhist priests associated with the 6 Buddhist temples in the Little To
 kyo area will participate. This service will also feature a women&rsquo\;s
  chanting group as well as songs sung by children.\n\nFollowing this cerem
 ony\, a special message will be delivered by Rev. Chozen Bays\, M.D. entit
 led &ldquo\;Providing the Best Future for Our Children.&rdquo\; Rev. Bays 
 is a well-known pediatrician who specializes in mindful eating\, among oth
 er things. Following her talk\, there will be an award ceremony for the ch
 ildren&rsquo\;s art and photo contest.  The program will conclude with a s
 pecial performance by the Grateful Crane Ensemble\, a popular theater grou
 p. They will perform &ldquo\;Project Momotaro&rdquo\;\, a set of three cla
 ssic Japanese children&rsquo\;s stories which is fun and nostalgic for the
  entire family.\n\nThe entire celebration is open to the public and free o
 f charge. Please join us for this meaningful event honoring the birth of t
 he Buddha and the connection between the Buddhist teaching and children.
