Reenacting this even t from over a thousand years ago\, one can still see the traditional hors emen of Fukushima at the Soma-Nomaoi Festival every July.\n \n Although g reatly impacted by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami\, the peop le of Tohoku\, Northeast Japan\, stood resilient in the face of disaster. This is one of the many cultural traditions that is a foundation upon w hich Japan is rebuilding. The Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta\, th e JETRO Atlanta Office\, and the Japan American Society of Georgia will h ave a special exhibition introducing the Tohoku region and its reconstruc tion.\n \n The exhibition will feature the culture\, history\, and traditi ons of Northeast Japan that survived the Earthquake. A Japanese armorer will be on hand to demonstrate the construction techniques of samurai arm or. Exhibits will also feature traditional cabinet making\, ironware teap ots\, and modern products from the region.\n \n We would like to cordiall y invite you to learn more about Tohoku&rsquo\;s recovery from the March earthquake\, and sample some of the finest sake in the world.
