 tical Mixed Race Studies\, the 1st annual Critical Mixed Race Studies Conf
 erence\, will be hosted at DePaul University in Chicago\, November 5-6\, 2
 010. The CMRS conference brings together scholars from a variety of discip
 lines nationwide. Recognizing that the diverse disciplines that have nurtu
 red Mixed Race Studies have reached a watershed moment\, the 2010 CMRS con
 ference is devoted to the general theme Emerging Paradigms in Critical Mix
 ed Race Studies.\n\nCritical Mixed Race Studies: CMRS is the transracial\,
  transdisciplinary\, and transnational critical analysis of the institutio
 nalization of social\, cultural\, and political orders based on dominant c
 onceptions of race. CMRS emphasizes the mutability of race and the porosit
 y of racial boundaries in order to critique processes of racialization and
  social stratification based on race. CMRS addresses local and global syst
 emic injustices rooted in systems of racialization.\n\nAll queries should
