DESCRIPTION:The first Military Intelligence Service Language School was est
 ablished in the months before the attack on Pearl Harbor to teach the Japa
 nese language at the Presidio of San Francisco. Today\, Japanese is only o
 ne of the 24 languages taught at the Defense Language Institute Foreign La
 nguages Center at the Presidio of Monterey.\n\nAs the nature of warfare ha
 s changed since the 1940s\, how has military language instruction changed?
  What has changed in the ways intelligence is gathered?&nbsp\;<strong>Just
 in</strong>&nbsp\;and<strong>Ashley Girardi</strong>&nbsp\;&ndash\; specia
 lists in Mandarin Chinese and Arabic\, respectively\, and graduates of the
  Defense Language Institute &ndash\; will join a panel of former military
