EVENING LECTURE
Monday, October 7, 6–8 PM
In Japan, robots already perform a variety of tasks, from greeting hotel guests to airport surveillance operations. What does the future of technology hold beyond robotics? The Japanese company Cyberdyne is developing Cybernics Technologies, leading the endeavor to form a new "Cybernics Industry." Based on Cybernics, which is centered around the fusion and combination of “man,” “robot” and “information,” HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb) was developed to improve a patient’s ability to move and is now gaining attention worldwide. In this program, Cyberdyne’s Founder and CEO Yoshiyuki Sankai discusses the company’s impact on society through existing products as well as his pioneering vision for the future.
