The California Aiseki Kai presents its 23rd annual show featuring more than 150 outstanding examples of suiseki and biseki—colorful stones. The majority of these stones are from California rivers, deserts or ocean shores and have been collected by club members.
A special display will feature international stones from Japan, Africa, China and Italy. Docents will be available to guide individuals or groups through the exhibition.
Long a popular art form in Asia, viewing stones invite contemplation of their subtle, fanciful forms, shaped by nature, the elements, and time.
The Huntington and the exhibition will be closed on New Year’s Day.
