 <description>&lt;p&gt;There&#039;s a nice article about Barbara Kawakami in the &lt;em&gt;Honolulu Star Bulletin&lt;/em&gt;. Barbara has been collecting stories and history about the plantation period in Hawaii for many years, particularly clothing. She has donated her Japanese immigrant clothing collection to the Japanese American National Museum. Next year the Museum will have an exhibition of the pieces. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Threads of issei lives dwell in fabric&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
