Hi - my name is Andy Kawatani, I'm from Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. I would like to take this opportunity to make nikkei friends around the world - sharing our cultural heritage and understanding.
We're so excited to hear from you. The site is relatively new, but there's a lot more content being developed and planned through our Affiliates and others. Recent areas of development have been the Winning the Peace: Military Service Veterans and the Occupation of Japan essays that were contributed by one of our Affiliates, and the Taiko Database which allows taiko groups outside of Japan to self-document their group's information.
If you have any specific areas of interests, let us know. We'd really love to hear from you, particularly about what life is like for those of Japanese descent living in the UK. If you know of any Nikkei events going on in your part of the world, please be sure to post them!
