hello fellow nikeijin. much love from the craziness, which is new york. a little about myself...

i'm a film editor currently residing in nyc. i'm originally from connecticut, which is as bland as it sounds. my background is rather....diverse. i'm part japanese, filipino, french-canadian, slovak, english, & russian (i think). however, my mother was born in Okinawa so i identify with this culture/ethnicity. i've always felt a little out of place so its nice to find this community. this social awkwardness, or call it what you will, has definitely resurfaced with the last few years so i've been heavily focusing on my background/roots. studying the japanese language and japanese/okinawan culture has become a major part of my life. moving to okinawa has also become a prospect. in fact, if you have any employment advice for a gaijin, please pass it along (anything outside of teaching english unless you have some inside advice). well i could blather on so i'll just end with an open request. please send me any bits of wisdom, advice, or knowledge you find useful. doumo arigatou gozaimasu. jya ne...
