I just read a really touching story on the Pacific Citizen's website about a Nisei boxer and his two marriages to his Caucasian wife. They were never divorced, but because of antimiscegenation laws at the time of their marriage in 1945 in Georgia, their marriage was considered unlawful. When they found out in 1956, they married again to make it 'legal' with their children present.

from the Pacific Citizen:

Bidding ‘Aloha Oe’ to an Enduring Love
A Nisei boxer and a Norwegian homemaker’s love story endured discrimination and two marriages — to each other.
