San Francisco Japantown J-Pop Center
The Nichi Bei Times reports that the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency has approved a J-Pop Center proposed by Shogkukan in their Japantown. The project is the brainchild of anime entrepreneur Seiji Horibuchi, but would require demolishing the 1746 Post St. Hokubei Mainichi Building. According to the article, the project has the support of the Japantown Merchants Association and even the Hokubei Mainichi. The new Center would house several businesses including a Kinokuniya annex bookstore, a movie theater, and space for the Hokubei Mainichi. Read the article...
