Hello -
My name is Victoria Kraus. I am the new web editor for discovernikkei.org for the Japanese American National Museum.
I was born and raised in East Los Angeles with my Japanese mother (from Tokyo) and caucasian Jewish American father (from New York). I grew up in a very Japanese household in the center of a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood in East LA in the '80s and '90s, and spent weekends with my Jewish grandparents in the Fairfax District or in Little Tokyo with my mother. Needless to say, I have quite a multicultural and lingual upbringing and it's only now that I'm beginning to see its importance in creating peaceful bridges among ethnic and culturally diverse communities.
I look forward to maintaining communication with all of the members of the Discover Nikkei Community Forum and do my utmost to support the growth of this site.
