I really look forward to matsutake season each year. Sometimes, if we're lucky, relatives from Seattle will send my mother a box to share with her siblings down here in L.A. After would open the box and remove the fragrant mushrooms, I would inhale the wonderful scent that lingered on the damp newspaper that lined the box. And then, that night my mother would make matsutake gohan and matsutake soup. Such a treat!<br /> </dl> <dl> I can't wait for the season to come around again!
