Internment Camp - 1943, Odori group, Slocan City, B.C.

In the internment camps of the interior of British Columbia, the Nikkei carried on various celebrations as a continuous of their prewar activities. Even with the limited luggage that the evacuees were allowed when hey left their homes in the coastal area of British Columbia, many mothers packed kimonos which were used for special occasions in the camp.
