二世へのバイリンガル教育

20世紀初期、さまざまなビジネスを始める日系人が目に付くようになりました。

日系社会では、コミュニティ情報だけでなく世界のニュースをカバーする邦字(日本語)新聞が発行されました。

アメリカ生まれの二世の子供達は、ボーイスカウトへの参加などアメリカ人としての教育を受ける一方、日本語学校で日本語、日本文化・伝統などを学びました。
