Satoru Ichikawa
Satoru Ichikawa nació en noviembre de 1929 de un ministro budista y su esposa en Fresno, California, el mayor de siete hermanos. Su familia se mudó a Seattle en 1936, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Arte Comercial de la Universidad de Washington. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial se enfrentó a prisión en el campo de Minidoka WRA. Separado de su padre durante dos años, Ichikawa finalmente se reunió con él en Crystal City, Texas. Casado, con dos hijos y dos nietos, ha hablado en muchas escuelas sobre la experiencia del campamento. En su tiempo libre, al Sr. Ichikawa le gusta jugar pickle ball y rasguear en la Banda de Ukelele de Jubilados Mayores.

My father was the resident minister of the Seattle Buddhist Church. The construction of the temple on 14th Avenue & Main Street was nearing completion.
