She is co-administrator of the Facebook page&nbsp\;<a href="https://www .facebook.com/japaneseamericanhistorynotforsale/" target="_blank">Japanese American History: Not for Sale</a>.\n\nAllen Hendershott Eaton&rsquo\;s h istoric 1952 book\, <em>Beauty Behind Barbed Wire: The Arts of the Japanes e in Our War Relocation Camps</em>\, explored art and craft objects create d by persons of Japanese descent while wrongfully incarcerated in the Worl d War&nbsp\;II American concentration camps. After many years of lying for gotten in storage\, the collection was inherited by a family friend of Eat on&rsquo\;s\, who in April 2015 attempted to put it up for auction. An out cry arose from Japanese American community leaders and activists\, who ral lied successfully to stop the insensitive sale of these important artifact s of Japanese American history. Ultimately\, <a href="http://www.janm.org/ press/release/395/" target="_blank">the collection was transferred to the Japanese American National Museum for safekeeping</a>.\n\nNow a traveling display\, both physically and digitally\,&nbsp\;<em>Contested Histories</e m>&nbsp\;is intended to help gather information about each individual obje ct so that the museum&rsquo\;s efforts to preserve and catalog the collect ion can be as complete as possible.\n\n<strong>This live public program is free and open to all.
