The Anthropological Studies Center of Sonoma State University presents, Growing a Community: Pioneers of the Japanese American Floral Industry , an oral history project funded by a Cal Humanities Community Stories grant. Join us in July to learn more about the project, hear speakers from the Japanese American floral industry, see the unveiling of the project website, and watch a video compilation of the collected oral histories.

Saturday, July 19 at 2pm, at the Buddhist Church of Oakland : A panel discussion featuring former and current Japanese American flower growers will focus on the pioneering character and spirit of the Issei and Nisei growers that helped shape and influence the floral industry.
