On Friday, March 11th Japan experienced their largest earthquake un record with a subsequent
destructive tsunami to follow. The Japanese community here in Chicago and the near suburbs,
although a half-world away, share the pain that their family and friends have experience over this
overwhelming disaster. Because of this, Japanese speaking counselors across the Chicagoland area
have come together to offer support groups across the area.
The focus of the group is to offer a safe place for people to express their fear, frustration, anger and
helplessness that has followed this tragic event. Our goal is that each individual will regain the
sense of safety and peace of mind through this support group. The group will be offered for 4 to 6
weeks and will be conducted in Japanese. Please call ahead to reserve your spot.
