Please join NJAHS for an exploration of issues related to the theme of FAITH, COMMUNITY AND THE CAMPS. Held in conjunction with the current exhibit: Sa sa e: Camp Objects of Memory , this screening and panel discussion pursues how faith was and continues to be a key part in the building of community. LEAP OF FAITH: HOW ENMANJI TEMPLE WAS SAVED s a short documentary by LINA HOSHINO about a Buddhist Temple in Sebastopol that was threatened to be destroyed when Japanese Americans were forced into internment camps in WWII. Local students worked very hard to save this temple from being destroyed, and the Japanese American community was able to come back to the temple after they were let out of the camps. After the film, REVEREND LLOYD WAKE ,  NOBUSUKE FUKUDA, Konko Church of San Francisco , MR. JERRY BOLICK, Buddhist Church of San Francisco , and other guests will speak about the role of faith in Japanese American community during and since the camps. Admission is Free!
