The material ga thered became the foundation upon which the story of the Japanese Canadian s could be told. That multitude of tiny reflections formed the larger mirr or through which a more comprehensive picture of Japanese Canadian history was revealed to the community. Community identity and awareness was great ly enhanced and\, in many ways\, that year marked the birth of the contemp orary Japanese Canadian community.\n\nA Dream of Riches\, created three de cades after the original\, allows us to rediscover that important moment o f discovery\, growth\, and pride. The exhibition recaptures the feeling of the era: families and communities coming together\, seeking roots\, recov ering and addressing the past in a spirit of reinvention.\n\nA Dream of Ri ches is a traveling exhibit from the Japanese Canadian National Museum and presents the original exhibit photographs and textual quotations along wi th recollections\, archival material and artifacts.\n\nThis exhibit is par t of the Redress 20th Anniversary Celebrations in Toronto. Co-sponsored by the NAJC Toronto Chapter and the JCCC Heritage Committee.\n\n DTSTAMP:20240416T201703Z SUMMARY:A Dream of Riches Exhibition closes URL:/en/events/2008/03/14/a-dream-of-riches-exhibition/ END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
