Additional information
Before December 7, 1941, I was working in Pearl Harbor for a defense contractor. On December 8 and 9, we were put to work, filling sandbags and protecting hospitals and other installations. On December 10, as we were about to enter the Pearl Harbor gate, all the Japanese-Americans were placed aside and when they had about 50 people; then, with bayonets drawn, they (the guards) marched us (double time) back to Honolulu.
