Lesson Overview:

Heroes by Ken Mochizuki and illustrated by Dom Lee is a children's book set against the backdrop of the 1960s, and the conflict in Vietnam. The story explores how one family deals with the painful legacy of war. The main character is a Japanese American boy whose father and uncle served in the segregated 442nd RCT during WWII.
