This frontal view of the historic Far East Building was taken in the spring of 2005. The building is on the eastern side of the Little Tokyo Historic District on the north side of First Street. The upper levels are housing units managed and maintained by the Little Tokyo Service Center Community Development Corporation (LTSC CDC). The DISKovery Center, a community computer learning center operated by LTSC CDC, occupies the lower right unit. The storied Far East Café, run by the Mar family which formerly owned the building, once occupied the lower left unit. The location is now home to the Chop Suey Café, which opened in the summer of 2006.
