Kentaro Kuwatsuka

The final presenter from the University of the Ryukyus was Kentaro Kuwatsuka, Associate Professor of Human Geography at the Center for Migration Studies.

For this Uchinanchu Survey, he was responsible for collecting data and creating a database. His presentation was titled "Geographical Experiences of Uchinanchu's Migrations Between the Birthplace and the Place of Residence."

He is interested in "movement' of the people between the regions as well as area development. He has also researched about the map of Japan and Okinawa created by the U.S. army during World War II.

His presentation is available in English and Japanese.
