Beginning of the garden

The plans for a Japanese style garden were set in motion in 1959 by a sizable gift from an anonymous Arboretum Foundation member.

As you walk into the garden from the entrance, you walk along the path lined with various trees and greenery and see this small stone lantern before you get to the lake.
