George Hoshida, "18 Hawaian fula dansu : Takahashi"

This picture embodies the term, "shikata ga nai." This term refers to the attitude held by many of those incarcerated in Lordsburg, that their situations could not be helped, so they must endure. They endured through art, in George's case, or through theatre and performance, like this drawing shows. Although it looks like fun, we must remember the actual circumstances of their lives during their time at camp.
